The Jane Bubear Sports Foundation had its first 10km fun run in 2009 in the small remote town of Dete, Zimbabwe and it has now become an annual event much anticipated by the town and surrounding villages. African Bush Camps in collaboration with African Bush Camps Foundation are finding solutions to the critical water shortage in Hwange National Park. Thanks your support, a third pan is being added to the list of waterholes to be pumped within the H2O Hwange campaign.
As Zimbabwe faces a drought, African Bush Camps pledge their support to supply water to areas of Hwange National Park.
Usually re-knowned for being a less likely time of year to experience wildlife up close and personal, the magic about Africa is that not everything is as it seems, and the last three months at Somalisa are testimony that the Green season can be just as good for wildlife.
African Bush Camps is proud to work in collaboration with Alliance Francaise and The Performing Arts of Bulawayo to present to the public a series of lectures dispelling the myths about the Large Carnivores of Zimbabwe and encouraging the public to take action to save them.
The Green Season brings an increased amount of plains game and predators at Somalisa Camp in Hwange National Park, including a pride of 22 lions. The dominant lion Jericho is the sole surviving son of 'Mpofu', that had dominated the entire area for more than 10 years.
