- Lifting of Travel Warnings - The US government lifted travel warnings on Zimbabwe in April. The Japanese government also lifted Travel warnings during the same month. Other

The Australian Embassy in Harare has recommended to its Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra that Victoria Falls be taken out of its travel advisory against Zimbabwe, and it is hoped that they too will lift the entire travel warning. - Tourism Police - To re-assure travelers to this part of Zimbabwe of their safety, Tour operators and other service providers initiated a Police sector that specifically addresses the needs of travelers. They are visible as they patrol the streets of Victoria Falls and ensure the safety of tourists.
- Conservation - The Tour operators in this part of Zimbabwe have taken the responsibility of Conservation of the environment upon themselves through initiatives such as the 'Friends of Hwange' and 'Wisdom 4 Wildlife'. Needless to say, all facilities have various 'Green programs' which encourage low energy use and wildlife-friendly development.
Zimbabwe's political situation: Zimbabwe is now run by a unity-government which combined the old and the new regime.
General mood and atmosphere: Peaceful, and a culture of friendliness and helpfulness still prevails among the Zimbabwean people.
Accessibility: There is a good network of roads and international flights into the Victoria Falls airport. South African Airways and British Airways each fly into Victoria Falls from Johannesburg once daily. Namibian Airways flies into Victoria Falls from Windhoek 4 times a week. Road transfers and fuel available at most garages and fuel stations.
Distance from Victoria Falls to the Hwange National Park: A comfortable 2 hour drive
Communication in the Hwange area: Cell phone connectivity is available up to the Hwange Main Camp. Internet facilities are not available. A satellite telephone is available for use in case of an emergency.
