Elephants & Wild Dogs in Somalisa Camp
Highlights of rainy season in Hwange
Rumors have always been saying that elephants at Somalisa Camp only drink from the pool during the dry season, but that it is not like that, the elephants have been drinking from the pool upto date. Now end of december there are about 20 elephants drinking regularly from our pool.
Some days ago our Somalisa staff witnessed the pack of 12 wildogs killing a young male kudu behind our laundry store room. When we got back from the Game Drive we went straight to the place were we and the guests have found the 12 dogs feeding on the kudu. The dogs did not leave the camp until the following morning. We actually had to wake up our guest very quickly before the wake up time in the morning because the dogs were at the water hole in front of the camp.
