Alan Elliott

Alan is a fourth generation Zimbabwean, born in 1938. He grew up in the Plumtree district of Matebeleland where his only childhood friends were the local Matebele. As a result he is a fluent Ndebele Linguist. His rural upbringing ensured that from the earliest age, Alan would be conversant with and utterly comfortable in the African Bush.

As a child he explored and hunted with the local herd boys and so he learnt his bush-craft skills from natural experts. These skills were later to be shared with thousands of overseas visitors, after he helped to pioneer the safari industry in Zimbabwe. He became the country's first licensed Professional Guide in 1974.
