Beks Ndlovu
Beks was born in a rural village called Lupane, which is between Victoria Falls and the historic city of Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. Growing up in a village and spending time with old African folk for eight years of his life gave him insight into his cultural background and knowledge of the bush. When he went to high school he was sent away to a typical old, military-type boarding school; Plumtree, which is a small Botswana/Zimbabwe border village. Taking up Falconry as a hobby amongst other sports, his love for the bush grew from spending much time bird hunting, camping and exploring in the woods. After completing his Cambridge advanced level studies, he went straight into the bush and started working as a trainee safari guide in the Gwayi Valley on the outer perimetres of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe and at the same time he spent time canoeing the Zambezi River, where he was soon awarded the Prestigious award of River Guide of the year in 1997.

Client Testimonials
The enjoyment factor on a safari increases greatly when one walks, rather than
sits in a Land Rover! But, when one walks with such a knowledgeable guide such
as Beks, one's level of enjoyment goes up even more. From the biology of the
plant-life to the habits of the animals, Beks proved to be a mine of
fascinating information. No walk is long enough to absorb the vitality of
the bush - a few days with Beks left us longing to return next year.
Absolutely compelling holiday!

What a brilliant experience has been created for us... to have walked in the bush so
close to the animals, to have canoed on the perfection and awesomeness of the Zambezi
river, to have taken safari drives, morning and night searching and spotting creatures
of all sorts, has been invaluable through your wonderful guides!

Our safari with Beks at Matusadona was the best!! We tracked and FOUND a wild
rhino with her baby, they were joined by the male and we spend thirty minutes
viewing them AND got out alive. We tracked lions and canoed with hippos and
crocs and enjoyed sunsets on the water with delicious h'orsderves and
cocktails and at night we discussed the world - my daughter and I felt safe at
all times and were cared for beautifully. We are definitely going back!
Thanks Beks!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon from New York and we had no exposure to
'the bush'. After the Beks Safari, we left Zimbabwe feeling like we had done it
all including game hikes, canoe trips and drives. Beks was an amazing guide who
taught us so much about our surroundings while making the whole experience fun
and exciting. He combines a vast knowledge of the terrain and the wildlife with
a good sense of humor and hospitality.
