Humphrey Gumpo
Humphrey was born in Northern Zimbabwe where he grew up and schooled. In this area he experienced his first interactions with the wild participating in survival courses and wildlife programmes at junior school. At the end of his formal education he started his guiding career at Fothergill Island on Lake Kariba. Four years of intensive training under different professional guides and different safari operators to become a qualified walking and canoe guide saw Humphrey work in Matusadonha, Mana Pools, Gona re Zhou and Hwange National Parks o Zimbabwe. After getting his qualification Humphrey spent most of his time along the shoreline of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools National Park running canoeing and walking safaris. During this time he also worked on the Maputaland Coastline in South Africa helping with a turtle research programme and travelled into the different areas of Namibia to learn about the fragile desert environments.

Client Testimonials
There are few guides in Africa who are qualified, licensed and excel in vehicle guiding, water guiding and
walking safaris. We experienced all three with Humphrey and can say without hesitation that we had
experiences and created memories while travelling with him that will remain at the top of our list. With
Humphrey our experiences exceeded our expectations.

I have been coming to this special continent for about 16 years and this canoeing and walking adventure was
the best! It is on the same level as the life changing gorilla encounter. It was an honour for me to learn
so many things from the bets guide and bush ambassador I have ever met. We must do it again. Thank you
