Nic Polenakis
Nic was born in Zimbabwe and was exposed to the great out doors from an early age. After completing six years of higher education in a bush orientated boarding school Nic soon followed his heart and dreams and began work as an apprentice hunter guide on a Black Rhino conservancy where he worked closely with the Sandiado Zoo in an intensive research of these animals. Anti-poaching, monitoring, darting, dehorning and translocation were all part of daily life.

Client Testimonials
Nic guided us for half or our safari, and we wish we could have spent the entire trip with
him. Having been to Africa three times, he clearly stood out as the top guide. We prefer to
walk and track game; Nic never endangered us, or disturbed the game, whether it was buffalo
or lion or elephant. Did we get close? We switched our lenses from zoom to wide angle many
times. And without having to camp in tourist central, we saw more than enough wildlife. We
asked to see the extremely rare wild dog, though we understood that you can track them for
weeks and find only tracks. Nic led us to their den on foot--a den he'd never been to
before.

We have travelled extensively throughout Africa over the past 25 years and can honestly say
that the past 6 years have been the most rewarding. We have had the pleasure of meeting and
safaring with Nic during this time and found him to be the most enthusiastic, knowledgeable
and friendly guide we have ever used. I am an avid photographer and usually spend at least
30 days on safari visiting various camps and lodges in different countries. During this
time Nic will accompany me throughout the safari as our specialist guide, adding continuity.
He has a deep understanding of wildlife both fawna and flora, and has an amazing ability to
predict the animals movements which makes for and even greater experience. We have no doubt
that Nic will do well in his new venture and in fact believe that his incredible personality,
knowledge and professionalism will be a great asset to any area. We wish him all the very
best and look forward to safari number 5 with Nic in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.
