Highlights Of Linyanti Bush Camp

Linyanti – Chobe Enclave (Botswana)

The high waters of the Linyanti Marsh continue to swell creating a mini delta, and towards the end of this dry season we have seen the concentrations of buffalo and elephant increase along the marsh to escape the heat and the dryness of “Chobe inland”.

A fire sweeping through our private reserve and followed by a brief spell of early showers has brought out grazing pastures and attracted a myriad of small to medium sized wildlife.

Aardvark sightings have been incredible in the last month and in some cases seeing 2 separate aardvark in one night drive. A pair of honey-moon leopards has consistently performed for us behind the camp and a number of visitors have been lucky to experience these unique sightings.

The highlight have been the pack of 11 wild dogs that have taken up the area as their impala hunting ground, on one occasion seen chasing an impala through the camp and killing it outside one of the guests tents.

The news splash pool at Linyanti is welcomed this time of the year and the summer temperatures increase; however it also provides the guests with an alternative romantic dinner area under the stars.

Comments from a guest:

“Dear Beks,
Just a short note to replace the EVALUATION SHEET which I have l lost.
The service at Linyanti Bush Camp was superb, as was the food. The staff was truely wonderful & friendly & Noreen was the best Camp Manager I have ever come across. She seemed so GENUINE.

A lot of people say all the words but there is little meaning in them. She was so happy for us when we saw the aardvark; this meant a lot to us. We had a wonderful Aardvark sighting (one trotted by the truck) and feel so lucky to have seen this secretive creature.

Thank-you

F&R Wilkinson”
