We are all very excited about the increase in general travel, following a down turn in the world
economies from last year, but most importantly it is very encouraging to note the positive attitude about travel to Zimbabwe, a long awaited breath of fresh air.
It has been equally good to see companies such as Federal Air starting to introduce scheduled
flights that will operate on seat rate basis and new operators coming in to set up in Zimbabwe as they realize, that this destination has so much to offer the international traveler.
It was good to catch up and see old friends and familiar faces at Indaba and of course meeting our new industry partners is always beneficial. We are very excited to share our monthly news letter
with you and to update you about all the amazing & exciting happenings at African Bush Camps.
African Bush Camps will not be increasing their 2010 rates for the year 2011, we will be holding our
2010 rates to encourage our visitors to book ahead and enjoy our unique wilderness areas at a cost
effective rate. We will continue to give you the extra 5 % discount on 6 nights or more booked with us
or a 10% discount if you spend 9 nights or more at any of our camps in Botswana, and/or Zimbabwe.
We are celebrating the auspicious event of the World Cup being held in neighboring South Africa by extending our Green Season rates in June & July 2010. This fantastic offering will apply to Linyanti Bush Camp and Khwai Tented Camp in Botswana, as well as Somalisa Camp in Hwange National Park & Kanga Bush Camp in Mana Pools Zimbabwe.
It has been an exciting journey pioneering inland Mana Pools where no camp has ever been set up. Kanga
area provides the raw wilderness area of Mana Pools in a private concession, located about 15km from the
Zambezi River with the Ruckomechi River as part of the western boundery. If you are as as passionate about
having your own private Africa as we are, this camp will offer you the exclusivity yet the most
thrilling wild life encounters both on foot and by vehicle.
Ian Batchelor, operations manager of African Bush Camps Zimbabwe, has spent a lot of time on the ground preparing and building the camp, as well as
playing host and introducing this amazing new project "Kanga Bush Camp", to various colleagues from the travel industry. Herewith a recent reports from Ian at Kanga Bush Camp
We are aware how difficult and costly it is for families to go on safari, therefore we would like to
provide an opportunity for family holidays. With this in mind we have implemented a new child policy at all our camps. We will accept a minimum age of 6 years of age, our rate for children between 6 – 12 years is 50% of
the adult rate. Read our child policy terms and conditions for more details.
We had a long and wet rainy season and the bush has been very dense and almost impenetrable in some
places. Finally in May things have started to dry out around the water hole and we are starting to see
a visible change in the area and visibility...
Living with the Hwange elephants for two days was exceptional .Thank you all for looking after us so wonderfully.Somalisa can lead the way in restoring tourism back to Zimbabwe.
